In reality you're talking to a criminal sitting in a cybercafe with a WELL REHEARSED SCRIPT he's/she's used many times before. They are hunting through chat rooms, dating sites and social networking sites like Facebook, Myspace etc. searching for VICTIMS, LOOKING TO CASH IN ON ROMANCE. If you are over 40, recently divorced, a widow, elderly or disabled then all the better in their eyes. Scammers are adept at psychological profiling, and use ANY weakness they find to their advantage. Just because people are nice doesn't mean they are who they say they are. Hummm!! THINK PEOPLE, AND STAY SAFE!!
It's the newest evolution of the Nigerian advance fee (419) scam. Instead of sending spam letters that promise millions for your assistance, these scammers are targeting single men and women who are searching for love online.
They use psychological tricks to lure their victims in, use poetry and even gifts to get them under their spell, then once you are there, will try to reach for your wallet, all the time declaring their "undying love" for you. The scam may take the form of asking you to cash a check for them through your bank account because they are "out of the country" and unable to cash it themselves, or they may come right out and ask you to send money to help them out of a fabricated "financial difficulty" they claim to be experiencing. These are all lies used to try to make them easy money from an unsuspecting victim.
Some of the scammers don't want money from you. ALL THEY REALLY WANT IS THEIR GREENCARD. They will romance you and tell you everything that you are desiring and longing to hear. They usually targets Christians because they are deemed to be weak or more understanding/compassionate. They usually pose as Christians, ministers or evangelist. They may be visiting here on a ministers visa and have a limited time to find a spouse so that their citizenship can be made permanent. These people are usually good a lying to get what they want and if they don't get you; then on to their next prey. Lot's of scammers who only want their greencard will marry you and then after their aloted time they will then divorce you and then go back to their land of origin and get the women/man that is waiting for them; their true love. They will use people and do anything to get what they want.
This is a growing phenomenon; yes even on fb. We know many who have been approached and have even been scammed. If they are looking for a greencard BEWARE!! They will usually tell you they love you REAL FAST just so to get your emotions involved. Their only purpose is to get you to marry them.
The sad truth is, for every real profile you see on the internet, there are numerous false ones pretending to be your perfect mate and they are using photographs stolen from modeling agencies or social networking sites. The people in the photographs are as much victims as the people who get scammed for love, hundreds, thousands, even tens of thousands of dollars.
INTERNET ROMANCE SCAMS AND OTHER RELATED SCAMS AND OTHER RELATED CRIMES ARE VERY REAL, AND THEY ARE AFFECTING EVEN RUINING--LIVES THROUGHOUT THE WORLD.

I am writing this to you because I have been approached even on facebook, and also I know a young lady in my home town about two years ago who was murdered by someone who she meet online. She had 4 children. Just because people say God, God that doesn't mean nothing. Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light. We must be careful and make wise choices! I am all about helping shed light on areas that needs to be lite up and this subject is crucial especially today.
